Physics study guidance.

Explore physics learning topics, practical exercises, degree requirements, syllabuses and independent tutoring guidance.

What you will study in Physics

Physics applies mathematical descriptions to experimentally testable questions. Work from units and diagrams to equations, then evaluate whether a result is physically plausible.

Core subject areas

  • Mechanics, waves and thermodynamics
  • Electromagnetism and circuits
  • Optics, quantum and modern physics
  • Measurement, uncertainty and scientific computation

Practical learning exercises

Practice works best when you first understand the relevant concepts, attempt your own response and then check your reasoning. Here are two examples of learning activities rather than completed assessment responses:

  1. Estimate a physical quantity before using a numerical solver.
  2. Explain how measurement uncertainty affects the reported result.

Find the right course and semester syllabus

Different institutions may use the same subject name for very different units. Before starting an assignment, identify your country, institution, degree, academic intake, semester or stage, module code and published learning outcomes. A current assessment brief takes priority over generic notes or an old sample paper. Compare your learning plan against our university directory, academic-session resources and study guides.

How we can support your learning

Subject guidance can include explaining models, discussing concepts, helping you interpret a rubric, reviewing a draft you wrote, or preparing practice questions for an independent project. We do not impersonate students or complete assessed submissions on their behalf. Use one-to-one tutoring to discuss difficult topics or send your course requirement for an appropriate study-support plan.
